5-YEAR-OLD CHILD RISKS HIS LIFE TO SAVE HIS 8-MONTH-OLD BABY BROTHER IN FIRE

Young and heroic baby Musa a five-year-old child rescued his seven-month-old baby brother from their burning house during the fire accident in Susan’s Bay community, on March 24, 2021.
The massive inferno outbreak in Susan’s Bay community destroyed over 1,597 households, leaving over 21 children injured. As the fire was fiercely burning down houses and anything that stood on its way into ashen remains, causing fear and everyone was running away from the horrific scene, the brave 5 years’ baby Musa, was busy navigating his way through the heavy and thick smoke of the fire to get access into their house in order to rescue his 8-months-old-baby brother who was left inside the house when the fire started.
This young boy acted fearlessly and selflessly in a moment that others were trying to care for themselves or their properties. Even though he had no idea of the dangers he was faced with, he did not stop for once to give a second thought to the threatening fact that, what if he could not make it out in time or he got stuck in the fire together with his little brother.
Musa and his little brother were left to a next door neighbour who was to look after them as the mother went to sell in the market. Unfortunately, when the fire was blazing everyone was worried and running for their lives, the adult could not remember about them, but Musa never forgot his little lying in the house.
Pa Musa, (as that is how he is normally called by family members) miraculously succeeded in his rescue mission, but unfortunately, he was exposed to extreme heat and smoke. He has been affected with Allergic conjunctivitis, and his exposure to extreme smoke increased the reaction in his eyes.
The Susan’s Bay Councillor Madinatu Kamara reached out to the Sick Pikin and explained how Musa’s heroic action has resulted in the sleepless night because of night pain.
We thank God that we were able to take him to Apex Optic today for a medical check-up and bought the needed medication for his eyes, he is being observed now as the treatment is slated for 10 days after which he is due for another review.
