NP SL Limited, one of the leading Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Sierra Leone, on 3 June 2024 formally presented its new management to the Executive Chairman of Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA).

Welcoming the new Chief Executive Officer of NP (CEO), Mr Saidu Mansaray, and his team, the Executive Chairman of Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Mr Brima Baluwa Koroma said he was very excited to congratulate Mr Mansaray and welcome the NP management team.

The Executive Chairman of PRA noted that he was certain that the new management would continue to re-strengthen the existential synergy between NP and the Agency following the outstanding services of the predecessor, Mr Kobi Walker.

Chairman Baluwa Koroma said the Agency, under his stewardship, had evolved enormously with sound revenue generation and improved compliance rate. He said in 2018, the revenue was around Le 473 billions and in 2019 to 2020; that the Agency hit up Le 757.79 billions and in 2021 to 2023 the revenue strength went up to Le 1.3 trillions.

“I’m kindly encouraging NP to expand their operations beyond the Western Area, and with the new management; we should forget about the issue of firefighting in the industry. I’m therefore kindly urging NP to continue its geographic footprint to the hard to go areas including Karene District, Pujehun District, Koinadugu District, and Kailahun District”, the PRA boss averred.

The PRA Executive Chairman disclosed that the Agency was planning to have a nationwide workshop with dealers in order to ensure that they were guided on how to collaboratively regulate the industry. He added that in recent times, the undue attitudes of some pump attendants were becoming quite unacceptable and that it was a clarion call and it was timely to halt it forthwith.

Speaking on behalf of NP-Sierra Leone Limited, the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Saidu Mansaray applauded the Executive Chairman and his team for the heartfelt welcome.

He spoke on the proposed workshop that PRA intended to undertake within the industry in order to ensure that not only pump attendants but all operators within the regulated sector behave ethically and professionally while dealing with the public.

CEO Mansaray praised the Executive Chairman for his commitment in transforming the downstream petroleum sector, and assured the management of Petroleum Regulatory Agency of NP’s fullest cooperation in the actualization of the Agency’s zest to keep pushing above its weight both in revenue and compliance.

Mr Saidu Mansaray said, “NP is planning to expand our operations beyond the Western Area and it is among their strategic goals for 2024 to take NP retailing outlets to the doorsteps of every Sierra Leonean across the country especially in deprived environments”.
