NO COVER-UP!
SLRSA TRANSPORT DIRECTOR FOUND GUILTY
…Probe on Right-hand Drive vehicle
Athur Brima- Director of Transport
Firmly refusing to publish the report on the illegal registration of a right-hand vehicle with registration number AVH 831 by Arthur Brima, the Director of Transport at the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), a tipoff received by Salone Compass has alleged that the final report by the instituted SLRSA Investigation Committee has found him (Arthur Brima) culpable.
While sources say the Authority has kept tight lips on Brima’s culpability, the allegation is that the Executive Director of the Authority, backed by other senior officials, is about to skew the report to protect the Transport Director while using another staff as a scapegoat.
We learned that the investigation committee was headed by the Director of Human Resources, Scott Manga, and its Report has been handed over to members of the Board for appropriate actions on the proffered recommendations.
Sources say many useful recommendations were made by the committee with the key among being the Committee’s view that those responsible should be dealt with accordingly in tandem with the rules governing the terms and conditions of service, which in such a case dismissal is inevitable.
The said right-hand drive car was impounded at the Mile 38 checkpoint on January 8th, 2024. It was licensed late last year in blatant contravention of Regulation 73 of the SLRSA Act 2011 which bans the registration and use of right-hand drive vehicles in the country.
The committee’s investigations reportedly unearthed that Mr. Arthur Brima had registered and certified this vehicle as right-handed ignoring the regulations that prohibit such actions.
But even so, no report has neither been published nor an action taken, despite all authorized committee members having appended their signatories to their findings.
Meanwhile, a letter seeking clarification on the above issue was sent to the management of SLRSA but no response was received by this medium even after making follow-ups.
Investigation continues…
