Kambia Police in Egregious Injustice
…Turn Victim as Perpetrator
What has been exhibited by the Police in Kambia is a clear manifestation of injustice as they are trying at all cost to deny Momoh Dumbuya an indigene of Kawonsor Village, Tonkoh Limba Chiefdom Kambia District the justice that he deserves.
On the 22nd April this year, Momoh Dumbuya was allegedly shot by one Musa Sesay commonly known as Musa Balay Balay on the order of Amadu M’balu Kamara who are indigenes of Mapendhun Village Tonkoh Limba Chiefdom.
On Tuesday 6th August, Momoh Dumbuya was arrested and detained by the Police in Kambia immediately after a court sitting in the ongoing shooting matter between him, Musa Sesay and Amadu M’balu Kamara.
According to his family members, after he (Momoh Dumbuya) was shot and hospitalized at the Kambia Government Hospital in April, he was operated and four (4) bullets removed from his body.
Upon the transfer of the file to Port Loko based on what the Regional Crime Officer of the North West Region, CSP Lamin Kamara described as a slow pace in the investigation of the matter, it was noticed that no file was submitted on the alleged shooting of Momoh Dumbuya even though there was a file of guns discovered by the police when the matter was reported on 22nd April 2024.
Responding to the arrest and detention of Momoh Dumbuya, the LUC of Kambia, Magonna stated that they were dealing with two separate files and that after the files were sent for advice, the shooting matter charged to court. He added that Momoh Dumbuya failed to report on the other matter which he did not state to me but that the Crime Officer is in a better position to speak on that.
Responding to the concerns, the Crime Officer Mr. Lahai said that he cannot respond on the matter, and arrogantly stated that he has no knowledge of the shooting of Momoh Dumbuya.
