Dr. Ibrahim Bangura Applauds APC Elections Timetable, Calls for Discipline and Unity in Upcoming Contests

In a bold show of support and commitment to party unity, All Peoples Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has commended the party leadership for the timely release of the timetable for its upcoming lower-level elections.
In an official statement released Tuesday, Dr. Bangura described the move as “a testament to diligent effort and a steadfast commitment to the principles of internal democracy,” praising the APC for demonstrating structural discipline and a readiness to evolve democratically.
“As we embark on this next chapter in our party’s democratic evolution,” Dr. Bangura declared, “I unequivocally commit my team and I to fully and faithfully abide by the rules and regulations that will be outlined by our Party and subsequently gazetted by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC).”
Known for his measured tone and firm emphasis on values, Dr. Bangura called for an atmosphere of “respectful competition” among all aspirants. He urged supporters to uphold a campaign driven by “hope, ideas, and mutual respect,” noting that all contenders are comrades, not adversaries.
“Every attack on a fellow comrade is a gift to the others we compete with,” he warned. “Every internal division is an open door to those who seek to weaken us.”
The statement appears aimed at preempting tensions that often arise during intra-party contests, while also reinforcing a broader call for cohesion within the APC as it positions itself for national leadership.
With a blend of humility and confidence, Dr. Bangura expressed belief in his ability to emerge as the APC’s presidential candidate, while stressing that the mission to reclaim power should supersede personal ambition.
“This journey must be one of integrity and comradeship… We must direct every ounce of our energy to win decisively and return democratically to power,” he emphasized.
He concluded with a hopeful rallying cry for party unity and national renewal: “Let us heal, unite, and build from the ground up.”
Dr. Bangura’s statement is being seen by political analysts as both a strategic pledge of allegiance to party protocols and a signal of his readiness to lead a disciplined, idea-driven campaign. As the APC’s internal processes unfold, his words may serve as a benchmark for how candidates approach what is expected to be a closely watched and highly competitive race.
